The Shoalhaven on the NSW south coast is home to an amazing variety of birds and is a mecca for birdwatchers.
BirdLife Shoalhaven promotes a better understanding of our birds and works tirelessly to ensure their survival.

Who We Are

BirdLife International is a global partnership of conservation organisations (NGOs) that strives to conserve birds, their habitats and global biodiversity, working with people towards sustainability in the use of natural resources. Together there are 121 BirdLife Partners worldwide – one per country or territory – and the number is growing. BirdLife Australia is a partner of BirdLife International.

BirdLife Australia is the oldest conservation organisation in Australia and the only national organisation focused on conserving our native birds. It began in 1901 as the Australian Ornithologists Union, became the Royal Australian Ornithologists Union (RAOU) in 1910, and many years later in 1997 it changed its name to Birds Australia. On January 1st 2012 Birds Australia merged with Bird Observation and Conservation Australia (BOCA) - formerly known as the Bird Observers Club of Australia - to for BirdLife Australia.

BirdLife Shoalhaven is a branch of BirdLife Australia and was one of the first branches formed after the merger, holding its first meeting and electing its first committee on March 1st 2014 at Greenfield's Beach in Vincentia.
